Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Kathleen M. Sluhoski, who serves patients in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Dr. Sluhoski is a trusted pediatrician with over 30+ years of professional experience. She is in practice with Metropolitan Pediatric Specialists – Burnsville Clinic.

A part of Children’s Minnesota, the pediatricians of Metropolitan Pediatric Specialists are all trained to manage and prevent health problems in infants, children, teens, and young adults in the most friendly and cost effective manner possible. They focus on a child’s: growth and development, behavior concerns, immunizations, injury prevention, illness, and nutrition. In addition, they offer their existing patients the convenience of same day appointments for illness and/or injury. 

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Sluhoski graduated with her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1991. She then went on to perform her residency in pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education in 1994. 

With a passion for caring for children, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Licensed to practice medicine in Minnesota, Dr. Sluhoski is affiliated with Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Children’s Hospitals & Clinics Of Minnesota, M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital, M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital, and St. Francis Regional Medical Center.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature. 

On a more personal note, Dr. Sluhoski has a son. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, biking, skiing, and playing the piano. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
